Have you seen the new movie Eclipse from The Twilight Saga?
What did you think?
Personally I loved the way it was filmed! David Slade did an exceptional job as director. Especially the scene where they chased Victoria (Played by Bryce Dallas Howard – Ron Howard’s daughter)through the woods and also the big fight scene. Watching them fly through the air was awesome!
I also really enjoyed the scene where Edward and Jacob were talking in the tent while Bella was sleeping. Whatever they did to Edward he actually looked cute for a change!
They have discussed online that the 4th book of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series Breaking Dawn will be filmed as 2 movies. This book is the most graphic of the 4. I’m not sure how they’re going to film it and keep it at a PG-13 rating.
Now I just have one wish/request for the last 2 movies – let’s see Peter Facinelli who plays Carlisle Cullen without his shirt on!! (And in case you missed it, Carlisle was listed as the wealthiest fictional character with a net worth of $34.1 billion by Forbes.com)
Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob? I’m team Carlisle
Have you read The Eclipse Novella – The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner?

Hi Dozenroses13!
It’s Paula from Paula’s Soapbox. I just started reading the Twilight Saga this summer and I completely fell in love with the series. I haven’t seen Eclipse yet but I heard it is the best so far. I was disappointed in the Twilight and New Moon movies primarily because I got tired of the way the dialogue and the scenes were messed with. I thought they should have done a better job with keeping up with the book because I thought the books were pretty close to perfect. The only exception to that in my opinion would be Breaking Dawn. I am now about 100 pages away from finishing that one and I am totally disappointed. I won’t get into a lot of detail about why I’m disappointed because my complaints are numerous. I’ll just say that the whole time I have been reading it I’ve been flashing to these Stephen King “Misery” type scenarios in which Stephenie Meyer’s superfan forced her to write the version of Breaking Dawn that is out there. It just didn’t seem like that book was even written by the same person, to me anyway. Great post by the way!
Paula
Oh Paula – get yourself to the theater STAT! You’re going to love it! I was disappointed in New Moon – I didn’t think Twilight the movie was awful though. I don’t like when they change things and they did. I too was disappointed by Breaking Dawn. In fact, my best friend got about 100 pages into it and couldn’t be bothered to finish it. She just wanted to tell me what happened. I can’t commit to 3 books of a series and then not finish the last one! LOL! Oh well. Hopefully it will be good.
Did you read the Bree Tanner book?

I know I’m definitely going to have to make time to see that. Everyone says it’s the best one. I still watch Twilight and New Moon even though I felt they could have been better simply because I loved the books so much. And it’s faster to watch the movies than to re-read a 500 page book in one sitting. lol! However I do plan on reading Twilight-Eclipse again, not sure about Breaking Dawn. I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one disappointed by that one. I couldn’t not finish it though. It would have been like getting halfway through a movie then shutting the tv off. I just wish it had been written differently.
Meyer set the bar pretty high with her first 3 books, and unfortunately Breaking Dawn didn’t even come close. I haven’t read the Bree Tanner book yet. I did buy it though when I bought Breaking Dawn. I plan to read it as soon as I finish BD, which should be tonight because I have about 90 pages left on it. Then I’ll probably start reading Twilight again. I’m too addicted to these books I know, plus after reading BD I want to remind myself what was so great about the series.
Thanks for letting me ramble on. I came into the Twilight thing late in the game and haven’t had a platform to talk about it yet. And it’s not exactly appropriate to talk about on a soap opera blog. lol!
Paula
I am surprised that all three movies so far have had different directors. David Slade did an awesome job with Eclipse. I haven’t looked to see who’s going to direct Breaking Dawn.
I agree with you. I think Stephenie Meyer was kind of backed into a corner to write Breaking Dawn and it kind of seemed forced. Also, when you’re done reading the series, go to her website and read Midnight Sun. It’s Twilight from Edward’s perspective. She started to write it and it got leaked onto the internet so she got mad and never finished it. After I finished reading the series I tried to start reading the books that True Blood is based on and I just couldn’t get into them. The series are just too different and I needed space between the two.
By all means, ramble on! I love it! Tell all your friends
Post a link on your blog or Twitter, soap opera people love twilight. It’s all about the drama right?? LOL!!
Yeah, I wondered that about the different directors too. I saw that Breaking Dawn is going to have yet another director but I can’t remember what his name is. I think what they really needed to do in the movies was get a different screenwriter, someone who could translate the book better.
Midnight Sun, I’ve been planning to read that one. Someone said it was really good. I wish she had just gone ahead and finished and published it despite getting mad about the leak. Her fans would have bought it whether part of it was leaked out online or not. I also think it would have been nice if she had made a novella for Breaking Dawn. I didn’t feel that the intimacy of Bella and Edward’s relationship really came through in that one. I missed all the dialogue between them that was just about them and the honeymoon was a big let down. I couldn’t help but think Edward’s mood was a reflection of Stephenie Meyer’s when she wrote the book. lol!
I will definitely post a link on my blog to your blog. I re-tweeted about this post earlier today, but I’m going to post something else about it on there. I think you are right a lot of soap fans probably do love this series love, drama, cute boys! lol!
Paula
I agree, the screenwriters make all the difference!
Yes, Midnight Sun would still sell despite the leak. Especially if the rest of it didn’t leak prior to being published. Sometimes it makes you wonder if it was leaked on purpose because she didn’t like how it was coming along and didn’t want to finish it, but wanted the publicity? I don’t know at what point in the Twilight mayhem it was leaked…. She could still write a novella for Breaking Dawn.
Thanks for the tweets and link. It’s all about the drama and the cute boys/men. Me, I prefer men, hence why I like Carlisle
And I just added you to my blogroll on my sidebar
You have a point about her reasons for stopping Midnight Sun. I haven’t heard anything but good things about that one so far, unlike Breaking Dawn. That one could have used some re-thinking and re-writing, but I digress.
Yes Carlisle is quite wonderful.
The beginning of his story as a vampire might have made for an interesting novella as well, as would Jasper and Alice’s. A lot of the Cullens’ backgrounds were crammed in these four books when really their stories could have been expanded into separate books.
Thank you for adding me to your blogroll. I posted another tweet about your post and I will add your blog to my blog shortly.
Okay, got ya added to my blog
I think a back-story novella on all the characters would be awesome! ESPECIALLY Carlisle!

And thank you for adding me to your blog
It’s a big blogging night around here. My boyfriend just got asked to start a motorcycle blog for the big newspaper’s website in the area
Now if we could find a way to make big $$$ blogging….
I think so too. There’s a lot we still don’t know about many of the characters.
Absolutely no problem in adding you to my blog. I try to add everyone’s blogs that I like.
Yes, too bad blogging doesn’t bring in the big $$$!
