Cash, food, water, important documents like your SS card, passport, credit cards….
I have an emergency briefcase where I can store all that important stuff so it’s ready to just grab in an emergency.
I have to put it all together so it’s ready to go.
I’ve been meaning to assemble a doggie kit too with first aid items, her medical records, pictures of her (for if she’s ever lost)
leash, food, etc.
That sounds like a pretty good start 🙂
I have that emergency briefcase I really need to get copies of all the important papers into…. A project that’s been waiting until all my files are organized. I can’t wait to have a desk again 🙂
My dog and cat, before ANYTHING else.
Most of my “emergency” documents are in my wallet. If I have time, I’ll grab my birth certificate (because I was born in NYC and WHAT A PAIN to get new copies), but honestly that’s not a priority compared to other things.
Water, whatever food we can grab.
Camera(s) (if there’s time).
I wouldn’t say I’m prepared, but most of the things I have are replaceable. My computer has most of my photographs downloaded. We both have laptops, so we could grab those easily. The biggest time suck would be getting Roscoe in his carrier. 🙂
Just in case it’s in there, they advise to NOT carry your social security card in your wallet. Reason being – if your wallet
is stolen they have EVERYTHING they need to open credit in your name. It’s much more difficult to do if they don’t have
your social security number. Some thieves will even just write down your SS#, Name & Address and NOT take your wallet
that way you don’t think anything is amiss and they go wild with your info and before you even have a clue your identity is
Anywho, I agree, most things are replaceable.
One thing that I didn’t have on my list, and you don’t either that would be important would be cell phone chargers 🙂
