No Longer With Us….
April 27, 2010 by dozenroses13
Recently it seems that whenever I start to get into a TV show that I like it gets canceled.
Sex and the City
At least they’ve made Sex and the City The Movie Part 1 and they’re coming out with Part 2 next month.
Eastwick
Eastwick was a great show and they suddenly up and canceled it during the first season 😦
Las Vegas
Las Vegas lasted for 5 seasons, but thanks to the writer’s strike, its last season (with Tom Selleck taking over for James Caan) the show got canceled and the last episode left way-way-way too many cliff hangers!! (And for the record I did like Tom Selleck’s character of A.J. Cooper, but he had big Ed Deline’s shoes to fill….)
LOST
Michael loves watching LOST and that’s coming to an end.
What shows have you gotten really into that have gotten canceled??
What do you watch now that you love that you pray doesn’t get canceled?
Please comment and subscribe.

I didn’t start watching Eastwick until after you told me
about it; so I think I jinxed you on that one. lol
Due to my memory problems from the mold house I can’t remember any as an adult but a bunch of childhood fave’s come to mind.
I will always be angry they discontinued Woody Woodpecker! I loved that cartoon & used to be able to imitate his laugh to a “T”.
Land Of the Lost was another that broke my heart when it disapeared.
& Lost in Space! Hello! That was a classic.
It’s too bad too because Eastwick was an awesome show while it was on!!
I loved Woody Woodpecker. There’s a picture of me with him on MySpace. I liked Chilly Willy too!
I never watched Land of the Lost or Lost in Space.
Here I thought you’d say you missed Dynasty or something like that!
There was a show on years ago called Hometime and it was about families in WWII era. I loved that show. More recently I liked the show with a woman president. Bad at names. 🙂 I don’t watch tv at all now so couldn’t give you a favorite.
I’m not familiar with Hometime.
Was that show Commander In Chief??
There is talk about Chuck not getting another season…I woud be upset.
If they canceled Amazing Race I would be VERY upset! I don’t watch many reality shows, but I think that is the best one out there.
I have Chuck here on DVD, but haven’t started to watch it yet.
I like the Amazing Race, but I’ve never watched it on a regular basis.
I’m a Firefly fan. Killed after the fall season. Now all I have is my box set, which I could watch over & again. I have Serenity when I see it on SyFy, and still watch it whenever I see it, no matter where it is in the movie. Joss Whedon is a genius!
I’m with miliwife on Amazing Race. I would cry!
I started watching Mental last fall, then it was gone. No word on it yet at all. I was afraid Drop Dead Diva got the axe too, but it’s a summer show, so I’m happy.
I was disappointed when CBS teased me with Season 1 of Dexter during the summer a couple years ago, but didn’t go on with the trend. Granted it’s graphic, but what isn’t these days?
I liked Firefly when it was on, though I’m not a huge Sc-Fi fan.
Yes, I’ve seen ads for the new Drop Dead Diva so that missed the chopping block for now.
I thought Dexter had more than one season. I must be wrong.
Brotherhood on Showtime. Rhode Island politics/organized crime. Lasted two seasons.
Vanished (strike)
Women’s Murder Club (strike) SF
Lipstick Jungle (cheesy but I liked it) NYC
Third Watch NYC
Southland (it was later picked up by another network) LA
Trauma (cancelled, renewed, now on the chopping block) SF
Traveler (cancelled after 8 episodes) NYC/Bos
Yeah I like my CA based public safety shows!
LOL! I’ve only heard of Women’s Muder Club and Lipstick Jungle. But I’ve gotta say I didn’t watch either of them.
Though I heard LJ was a good one 🙂
I am a total tv series curse.
LOL! Yeah you are! Whatever you do – DO NOT watch General Hospital! Hopefully I’m safe because it’s been on forever, but just in case….
I really hope that NCIS, BONES, and Criminal Minds don’t get canceled. They’re the only ones I’m really into and HAVE to watch…
There have been a few over the years that got canceled while I was into them, New Amsterdam (which you can watch on Hulu still.) ER and Monk had great runs, but their time was done…Hey Dude….
Michael loves NCIS too!
I liked ER too, but 15 seasons was enough.
There are a few… but for some reason, the titles have escaped from my thoughts.
Firefly – Luckily, I can get my Fillon fill with Castle
Dollhouse
I would be quite sad to see Chuck go.
You’re the 2nd to mention Firefly and Chuck. I really must watch those Chuck DVD’s I suppose….
Good News Amazing Face fans! It will be back:

New Amsterdam was a good show. Cute Ella introduced me to that one, even though it only lasted, like, 8 episodes.
But more importantly (and more heartbreaking), THEY’RE CANCELLING 24 ON ME.
I’m not familiar with New Amsterdam, but I was wondering when someone was going to mention 24. I didn’t watch the show but I’ve heard it’s really good.
I’m getting to the point that I’m VERY impatient so I wait for shows to come out on DVD and then I watch them. I have many series here waiting for me to watch them. The Tudors, Chuck, Samantha Who?, Grey’s Anatomy, Northern Exposure, Twin Peaks….

I fell in love with Veronica Mars on DVD. Somehow I missed it when it was on tv.
I also love Friday Night Lights. It was saved through a Direct TV/NBC deal, but I believe this is the last season. I can’t wait for it to come back to NBC in May. I tried very hard not to read any spoilers while it was on Direct TV.
I’ve never seen Veronica Mars though I heard it was good. I see it in the library on DVD.
Sometimes it’s hard not to read spoilers about TV shows. Twitter doesn’t help with that either. I DVR’d
the end of Project Runway and had to stay off Twitter because I know the Twitterverse would spoil it for me.
Though I knew who was going to win anyway this time…. It was no contest!!
