If you get good service you may tell one or two people about it – BUT – if you get bad service you’ll tell everyone you know.
[tweetmeme] Just to prove that we don’t only speak up when we get bad service… let’s talk about some awesome service we’ve gotten lately!!
Kristen at Berkshire Bank in 20 Mall in Guilderland. She is top-notch! Michael had a problem with his account last week due to a mistake Price Chopper made. (One of many, they’re on my shit-list this week) Kristen was quick to get us in touch with someone who could resolve the problem. She did it all with a smile in her voice and a good attitude. I didn’t mention that we spoke with her over the phone. Her positive attitude came right through the phone. We called her manager Jason who was working in another location and he immediately rectified the situation.
We stopped in to thank Kristen and Jason in person the next day. Kristen was there and we had a wonderful conversation. We were sad to learn though that Jason was transferred to their Colonie branch. Not as convenient, but still not too far away. I highly recommend either of these two branches for your banking needs.
The other awesome service we received was at Max BMW. Michael was in contact with them regarding test-riding a couple of motorcycles so he could talk about them on his biker . Craig and Ben took the time to meet with us and answer all the questions we asked. The dealership was quite busy since they were sponsoring an event, but they made us feel like we were the only two on their sales floor.
These days I won’t do business with a store who’s customer service ISN’T top-notch. Tons of businesses compete for my attention, so why should I put up with rudeness or bad attitudes?
Where have you gotten awesome service lately?
Where has customer service fallen short?

I wouldn’t call it good customer service, but I’ve received good Christian service from the men at a local furniture warehouse. They loaded my van for me, made sure to use blankets so my windows wouldn’t be bumped, asked about MH, Ar, were truly concerned how I was going to unload this stuff by myself, etc. It sure is nice to know that good people are still out there.
Bad svc: Pawsh Wash in Lawrence, KS. I was in for a DIY wash/groom and it was just rushed and rude and didn’t explain much at all.
Good Christian service is right up there. We don’t see it too often.
I don’t understand how these businesses with bad service stay in business, I really don’t!
I have to say, I haven’t gone anywhere lately to get good or bad service. I would like to comment and say though that I have given my family superior maid service. Too bad I don’t get any kuddos from them!
Well if you’re staying in, that’s the best way to save $$$ (unless you live on shopping sites and are glued to HSN)
You’re family should give you kudos, because if you all of a sudden stopped, I bet they’d complain!!
I just gotta say, Red Robin’s customer service has tanked in the past year. Am I right?
I haven’t been there since last summer. It seemed fine in Latham.
It’s all about the servers. They can make or break a restaurant!
Service seems to always be hit or miss at chain restaurants.
The past few times we ate at the bar at Smokey bones the service was amazing except for the last time. It was dead and it took 1.5hrs to get our meal and the waitress/bartender was horrible. Had to ask multiple times for our drinks and napkins even. We also tried going back to the Sports Grill on rt4 in east greenbush…..we were seated fast on the patio then never received anyone to wait on us. Went in and complained saying no service…then 3 came out and they went to everyone except us! 20minutes without recognition and we walked out. We will never go there again.
It stinks when restaurants you enjoy or used to…get ruined by bad staff.
Wow really? We’ve never had a problem at Somkey Bones – I’m shocked!! 1.5 hours – I would have been out the door – no question.
That’s unacceptable!! I’ve never gone to the Sports Grill, but the one time Michael went, he led a ride there for our group and got there
to discover they weren’t having the bike night they had ADVERTISED! He was pretty annoyed.
Staff can make or break a business – and in this economy – fire the deadbeats and hire someone who is willing to do the job!
I’ve always good service at Moe’s in Clifton Park. Even when they have a line out the door (sign of a good spot) they are always speedy but friendly. I’ve also had great service at Mocha Lisa’s and at PetsMart in Clifton Park.
Bad service is virtually everywhere at any given time, but consistently bad service is noteworthy. I will not eat at any Dakota or Applebees if I can help it. Several locations, all bad service. That’s a closed case in my book.
Moe’s has consistently had good service whenever I’ve been there as well. Same with PetSmart. I haven’t been to Mocha Lisa’s in ages though.
Not sure about Dakota or Applebees. I avoid Applebees just because their food tastes bad – it had nothing to do with their service…. LOL!
[…] and I shared a guest post called Who Will You Be When The Pilgrimage Is Over. We discussed some good service I’ve received lately and lastly I made a request to all of you for donations for a Poker Run to benefit The Ronald […]
