Today Isabella had a visitor.  Tequila came over for the day.

Bella wasn’t quite sure what to do with another dog in the house with her….

This picture is kind of blown out from the sun, but I think it’s funny how the two of them are looking at each other!

They were so cute!  They got along better than I thought they would!!

The Weeklies ~ Week 21

The Weekly Re-cap: This week we talked about a working dog and a tree-climbing rooster.  I told you about a website called Opposites Connect that is launching soon and a bad date I went on.  You got to meet and learn more about my friend Jessica, we talked about loaded questions, bloggers & baseball….  Lastly I told you all about a fundraiser that takes place TONIGHT called Chase For A Cure.  Be there – all the cool kids are going!!

The Weekly Read: Bobby Flay’s – Grill It!

The Weekly Movie: The Rock & Jury Duty

The Weekly Downer: Being out of work 😦

Cast of Romantically Challenged

The Weekly Sad TV Situation: Romantically Challenged was canceled 😦

The Weekly Schadenfreude: New York State Governor Patterson wanted to put New York State workers on a temporary 1 day per week un-paid furlough.  A judge put a temporary restraining order on the furloughs.  So instead Patterson may lay off 10,000+ state workers.  I bet 1 day off isn’t looking so bad now huh?  If you have a job be thankful you’re employed.

The Weekly Tea: We broke out my Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker this week.  We made some Lipton White Tea with Island Mango and Peach Iced Sweet Tea and it was yummy!!

The Weekly Food: We had some leftover pork loin and smashed potatoes from last nights No Destination dinner at The Mill Tavern after the ride for dinner tonight.

The Weekly Amazing Fact: According to OMGFacts on Twitter:  The Statue of Liberty’s feet are 25 ft long, making her a US women’s shoe size 879.

Happy Birthday!

The Weekly Birthdays: David Onufer, Jim Mergenthaler, James Demontozon, Gaston Vega Vallejo, Rita Davenport, Alison Payette-Lovely, and Paul Fred.  I hope you all had a wonderful birthday!!   Leave me a comment here on the blog and tell me what you did for your birthday.

The Weekly Holy Shit Headline: A 13-year-old middle schooler named Raymond Hosier was suspended for wearing rosary beads to school.  The school says their dress code states that beads may not be worn because they’ve been known to be gang symbols.  The young man wears them as a remembrance of his older brother Joey who was killed by car back in 2005 and for his uncle who died of cancer two weeks ago.  The news story is here.  The comments on the story were VERY interesting too!

The Weekly Activity: Job hunting, blogging and networking.

The Weekly Damn It: Key Bank is now giving out an 8GB iPod Touch if you open a new account and do a few things to establish the account.  I’m bummed because I already have an account and I’m not eligible!!  Anyone want to open an account and give it to me??

The Weekly new people I’ve found on Twitter: Sonny’s BBQ (FL), Blue Martini (Tampa), Wet Seal, Funny Spoon, Nerd Approved, Saratoga Winery, Tweetup Saratoga, Hard Rock Cafe, and Mike Keane.

Brianna Chase

The Weekly Charity I’m Pimping: Chase for a Cure is TONIGHT!! Information can be found HERE.  Please come out and show your support for Brianna.

The Weekly Countdowns: Sex In The City 2 (May 27, 2010) 6 more days & The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (June 30, 2010) 40 more days.

The Weekly Hypothetical: If we were all told we needed to evacuate the United States next week and go anywhere else in the world – where would you go?  (And being stubborn and staying here to die is NOT an option)

The Weekly Not-So-Hypothetical: If you’re a wine drinker what are you favorite kinds of wine?

He works hard for the money!!

While in Key West we went to Mallory Square to enjoy the sunset.  Every evening there are street performers and vendors in the area.  There was a guitar player and as he played, this little cutie would walk around to the audience members for the tips.  When you gave the dog the tip, he’d walk over and drop it into the bucket.  He was so cute!  He looked VERY well cared for too!  I bet the treats the guy gave him were gourmet!!

What’s the cutest animal trick you’ve seen lately?

Human Hamster Ball

While I was in Tampa last week I went to Citrus Park Mall.
In the center of the mall there is an above ground pool with about a foot or so of water in it.
The person climbs inside the plastic ball and then the attendant puts a hose (what looks like a shop vac)
and blows air into the ball and zips it closed.  Spreads some Vaseline on the zipper and off they go.

It seems like a good business.  The biggest expense is probably the rent paid to the mall.

Eurp Bobble's Price List

These guys were obviously older teenagers and they looked like they got exhausted FAST!!

I have a video too, but I can’t figure out how to upload it!!

There are videos on their website.

Every time I see one of the larger pet balls in Petsmart I’m tempted to get one for Isabella.  I bet if I got inside one of these I’d think twice about it!!  LOL!

Does this look like something you’d try?

Bella cruisin'

It was a nice day out today.  So I took Bella with me crusin’ around town to do my errands.  She loved it and she got to meet 4 new people!  After I got home I took her for a walk around the block and she got to meet 3 new people at one of my neighbor’s houses.  Isn’t it kind of sad that this summer I’ll have been here 3 years and I only know a couple of my neighbors?  Now I know more 🙂  All in all Bella had a fun day.  She doesn’t get out much!

Did you do anything special with the weather being so nice out?

On Friday my friend Rob Madeo wrote a blog called Vibrators and Gardening Clogs over on his Times Union BlogMan of a Certain Age.
One of the items that got mentioned in his blog was:

Picture from Solutions

They’re tag line is: “With these pads, you won’t worry when the wind blows!”
I’ve got to say – I find it disturbing that there’s a thong in the picture!

While reading the reviews on the site one reviewer states that it masks the odor, but not the sound.  They don’t give her brother “carte blanche to toot away.”  Another reviewer said she has gas attacks after large holiday meals and says “Now I just discreetly slide on one of the neutralizer pads and let my worries and flatulence go.”  Why does she need to do it discreetly?  She makes it sound as if she’s putting on her pad at the dinner table when she phrases it like that!

All the reviewers gave Subtle Butt 5 out of 5 stars.

I brought up the question to Rob “Do you think they could stifle a dog fart?”  See the comments on his page to see the whole exchange.

Did you hear that?    It wasn’t me!!

There were just soooo many funny photos for this blog!!

What are some of the off the wall items you’ve found online or in catalogs?

Taking a snooze

This is Isabella taking a snooze on the day we met.
Back then she had floppy ears.
It makes me smile, but makes me sad too.
She’s grown up now.  Her ears stand up….
She still takes many naps and cuddles with me every chance she gets, but it’s not the same as when she was a little tiny puppy….
She’s snoozing away now as I type.
I might need to wake her up to play!

Nah….

Snow Day

I fell asleep really early (at least early for me) last night and didn’t write my blog.
I’d love to get my readers interacting a bit.

The northeast is getting a pile of snow today.
How about this: Tell us what you like to do on snowy days.

I’ll start.
I love to make a big pot of chicken noodle soup and then cuddle up with Bella and read a book or watch a movie.
Of course I throw some internet surfing in there as well.    Oh, and a pot of tea too!!  🙂

So… what are you doing today?

Please subscribe in the upper right and comment.
