The Weekly Movie: Flight of the Navigator (1986)

The Weekly Time Waster: Google Chrome.  I tried using it a few weeks ago and it kept slowing down my computer and crashing.  So I stopped using it, but my Firefox kept getting hung up.  It shouldn’t take 5 minutes for a page to load.  It was worse than waiting for dial-up!  You can’t imagine how many times I was ready to throw something!  So yesterday I finally decided to uninstall Google Chrome and that seems to have been the problem!  (Yeah, I know, you’re shocked, I’m not putting any links to Google Chrome because I don’t want to encourage ANYONE to install it!!)

The Weekly Downer: There never seems to be enough time to catch up on reading all the blogs I love!

The Weekly Worst Piece of Crap on TV: Wipeout – If I want to watch people run into walls and fall on their face, I can watch myself in a mirror….

The Weekly Food: Italian Goulash, Moe’s Pulled Pork Rice Bowl, French Toast, and Potato Chips.

The Weekly Interesting Fact: In comparison to the size of its body, a Chihuahua has the largest brains among all the breeds of dogs. **

The Weekly Birthday Wish: Kristi Gustafson really wants an electric toothbrush 🙂

The Weekly Activity: Job search (Times Union Job Fair) and blogging.

The Weekly new people I’ve found on Twitter: I created a new Twitter name GiveAwaysForYou to post up giveaway tweets so they don’t flood my Dozenroses13 feed.  Hopefully one day I’ll be posting my own giveaways.

The Weekly Charity I’m Pimping: Kristi Gustafson will be guest bartending Monday July 26 from 5:30-7:30PM at the award-winning Dale Miller Restaurant.  Dale Miller is generously donating 25% of the bar proceeds from the evening to the programs and services of Equinox, Inc. Have you seen the new movie Eclipse from The Twilight Saga?
What did you think?

Personally I loved the way it was filmed!  David Slade did an exceptional job as director.  Especially the scene where they chased Victoria (Played by Bryce Dallas HowardRon Howard’s daughter)through the woods and also the big fight scene.    Watching them fly through the air was awesome!

I also really enjoyed the scene where Edward and Jacob were talking in the tent while Bella was sleeping.  Whatever they did to Edward he actually looked cute for a change!

They have discussed online that the 4th book of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series Breaking Dawn will be filmed as 2 movies.  This book is the most graphic of the 4.  I’m not sure how they’re going to film it and keep it at a PG-13 rating.

Peter Facinelli as Carlisle Cullen

Now I just have one wish/request for the last 2 movies – let’s see Peter Facinelli who plays Carlisle Cullen without his shirt on!!  (And in case you missed it, Carlisle was listed as the wealthiest fictional character with a net worth of $34.1 billion by Forbes.com)

Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?  I’m team Carlisle 🙂

Have you read The Eclipse Novella – The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner?

The Weekly Re-cap: We talked about NY’s hideous yellow license plates and a woman who dresses in the dark and must not have any friends.  I shared a hilarious commercial with you and told you about a guy who’s famous for inventing nothing.  We talked about a recurring dream I have and a major typo made by a large company.

The Weekly Read: I read The Unemployment Survival Guide, and I’m working on reading The Twitter Job Search Guide and Shift Your Habit.

Peter Facinelli as Carlisle Cullen from the Twilight Series. He's my favorite character!

The Weekly Movie: Eclipse – I was worried I’d be disappointed or let down and it was awesome!!  David Slade did a great job as the director.  I loved the way the fight scenes were filmed!  Peter Facinelli was gorgeous as usual!!  (He was voted the wealthiest fictional character by Forbes this year. We also watched It’s Complicated.  Funny movie with Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.

The Weekly TV: Hot in Cleveland.  You guys know I love Betty White from my blogs here and here.  She’s hilarious along with Valerie Bertinelli (I loved her as Barbara on One Day At A Time), Jane Leeves (Who was awesome as Daphne on Frasier) and Wendie Malick (Who’s been in tons of things I love, but she is well-known as Nina Van Horn on Just Shoot Me).  A cool thing about this show that you don’t hear of too often anymore is that it’s filmed in front of a live studio audience.

The Weekly Downer: People who don’t return phone-calls.

The Weekly Food: This week we had Italian Mix Sandwiches, Egg Sandwiches, and kabobs 🙂

The Weekly Interesting Fact: The first toilet to flush in a motion picture was in the movie Psycho in 1960.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

The Weekly Birthdays: Jane Majovski, Fred Quenzer, Dan Boice,Carly Hillman Staubach, Jessica Traver, Jenna Ferguson, Glen Shefkowitz, and Stacey Cochrane Gregory LandLeave a comment and tell me what you did for your birthday.
